What Is Comfort Fit?

Most men searching for a wedding ring decide on a ring based on how it looks. But what we’ve come to recognize is that much like in marriage, no matter what something looks like from the outside, its ultimately what’s on the inside that matters. This is why all our rings are made in a “comfort-fit” style. Lets get into what that means:

Most rings are pipe-fit. This means that the ring is cut like a pipe. Flat all the way through and sometimes even sharp on it’s edge when it comes in contact with the skin between your knuckles. But it also means that the wider the ring is on your finger the less the skin beneath it can breath. Water often gets trapped in this space and can lead to skin conditions like eczema or chronic dry skin.

Comfort fit has a slight convex curve to it on the inside, this way the edges of the ring (where the bevel is on our rings) are actually less tight than the space in the middle inside of the ring. This means that it pushes water out from between the ring and your skin and allows your skin to breathe. The best part about a comfort-fit ring is that by looking at it from the outside no one would notice the difference. But we can guarantee that if you’ve ever worn a pipe-fit ring and gone to comfort fit you will notice the difference, and your skin will thank you for it.
